Grants Funding Update for Rock Foundation UK

Solar Panels for the roof of the Day Services for a more sustainable future. Grants were received from East Coast Community Fund: Creating a Sustainable Future and North East Lincolnshire UK Shared Prosperity Fund to finance this vital energy efficiency project.
We have been notified that our submission for a grant to undertake a major refurbishment of Heneage Road has been successful. Wolfson Foundation have granted £60,000 to Rock Foundation UK Ltd. This is to transform the reception area into an open plan, reception, tearoom and retail display area. This forms Phase 1 and will contribute towards Phase 2 of the project which is to undertake a full refurbishment of the cottage kitchen and laundry areas (independence living skills workshops).
The tearoom project is in ‘partnership’ with Alzheimer’s UK and Creating Positive Opportunity. Once completed the tearoom will provide a venue for the carers and the people living with dementia to visit for their support group outings. This will provide the students of Heneage Road with the real life working experience that they otherwise are excluded from.
Caistor site
The Community Supported Living premises at Caistor received a Government VCSE Capital grant of £150,000 to replace all the windows, the door and an upgraded boiler in the Grade ii listed building. The windows are bespoke wooden and double-glazed to comply all the requirements of the Conservation Officer.
A grant of £4384.64 has been awarded by Delamere Dairies Foundation to erect a packing shed on the grounds of the Community Allotment. This is to provide a new and extended project, whereby the students of the Day Services will be able to harvest and pack the produce of the allotment into packages with labels displaying their name, for example, “packed by John” and the date of packaging.
