Rock’s Warm Space Project gets a much needed boost from the Asda Foundation

We currently run several community activities at our day centre in Heneage Road, Grimsby. These include an elderly persons Luncheon Club, retired Deep Water Trawlermans coffee morning, Parent/Carers Support Group and an area wide Social Club for those with learning disabilities and their families.

Rock's Warm Space Project gets a much needed boost from Asda FoundationWe are delighted to confirm that the funding we have received from the Asda Foundation amounts to £1,413.00. This money will be used to help us extend the opening times of our community activities, effectively offsetting the increase in the costs of heating and lighting, namely gas and electricity.

Given the current cost of living and energy crisis, we have decided to create a warm space for these groups and their respective family members if required. This will enable them to spend extended periods of time with us and serve to ensure that any hardship they endure as a consequence of the crisis is reduced as far as possible. Rock Foundation’s aim is to enable people from these groups to spend time with others in an enjoyable atmosphere, keeping warm, taking part in organised activities, with access to a hot drink.

We also intend to extend access to our service user’s families as well as staff and their families. Additionally we shall make ourselves available to other community groups and/or partner agencies requiring or requesting our assistance. To find out more please don’t hesitate to get in touch with our office.
