Thank you to Sport England and the National Lottery for recent funding awards

We reclaimed our old hall back last year after we needed to use it as a storage space for furniture, office equipment, fridges and so much more in preparation for setting up the Rock Community Hub.

Everyone was very excited to have the hall back and available for student sports and activities as well as special events. This great sized space makes an ideal sports hall, however, we needed actual sports equipment in order to encourage our students to explore new activities whilst getting fit and healthy. For many of our students, this was to be a totally new experience and also one of our support worker’s was eager to complete some relevant coaching training.

Thanks to initial funding of £914 from the Sport England Award we were able to send the support worker on the coaching course and also purchase a range of sports equipment enabling our students to take part in the following activities: football, basketball, volleyball, dodgeball, gym exercises, crazy cricket and badminton.

Double success with funding

We are delighted to report that Rock Foundation managed to get through to round 2 and received a grant of £3,620, which will enable us to invest in the following sports equipment for our students: JLL T350 Digital Folding Treadmill, Wenoker Exercise Bike, Medicine Balls, Dumbell seats, Workout Mats, footballs, football bag and goals, table tennis table, eEquipment storage rack, indoor cricket set, development parachute, soft balls, sports T shirts and shorts, exercise ball, hoops, new pool table cloth, pool cues and pool balls, darts and an indoor hockey set.
